COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q. What age groups are allowed to play in Quincy Youth Football and Cheerleading?
A. Flag football runs 1st through 4th grade. Tackle football runs 2nd through 8th grade. Cheerleading runs 1st through 8th grade.
Q. Which team will my child play for?
A. Children are assigned to either the Quincy Presidents or North Quincy Apaches based on address.
Q. What if my child played for the South team last year but lives on the North side of the city?
A. In most instances prior waivers to play on the North or South side of the city will be honored.
Q. Where will the two teams practice?
A. The North Quincy Apaches will practice at Pageant Field. The Quincy Presidents will practice at Fore River Field.
Q. I am a single parent with 3 kids playing. Are there any financial assistance programs available to help pay the registration fee?
A. Yes. Go to the documents section and print out the Financial Assistance Form. Fill out and mail into the League. Each request will be reviewed by the league.
Q. When do practices begin and how long are they?
A. Practices will begin the last week of July and typically run 3 days a week from 5:30 to 7:30. The hours and specific days may differ between the teams and will be communicated to you after registering and as we get closer to the start of practices.
Q. My child's friends all play for the North team but we live on the South side of town. Can my child chose to play with his/her freinds on the North side?
A. No. Unless there are very special circumstances, children must play for the team/area within which they reside.
Q. I am interested in coaching but don't have any experience can I coach?
A. Yes! Most of our coaches first came to us with little or no coaching experience. There are opportunities to help on many different levels.
